Looking for anything colorful in the landscape at this time of year forces me to notice things that wouldn’t be noticed as much in other seasons. This time it was the icicles and snow against colorful granite. You can’t help but notice granite in Muskoka. The entire area is built on it, but in other seasons it’s mostly the fascinating shapes and impressive structures rather than colors that really stand out. However, during the monochrome season of winter, granite can sometimes stand out in the landscape again to give us a fix of the color we crave.
