frost crystals on dried flowersWhen the conditions are just right here in Muskoka we can find some interesting types of frost. I found these large and ornate frost crystals on dried flowers in the fields around the house. The dried wildflowers are likely a type of wild aster which grows freely in the fields. On each dried flower feathery frost crystals formed where the petals had been to create an impression of winter blooming ice flowers.
